Consultant — Aviation & Infrastructure

Los Angeles or New York  ·  Full-time  ·  2–5 years

About the role

M2P Consulting is looking for a Consultant to join our US practice, based in Los Angeles or New York. You will work on structured delivery engagements across aviation, infrastructure, and adjacent sectors — designing solutions, building analytical frameworks, and leading client-facing work from day one.

This is not a support role. You will own workstreams, present findings directly to senior clients, and be accountable for the quality of what leaves the room. The consultants who scope the challenge are the same ones who solve it.

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of analytics, process redesign, and technology strategy workstreams for aviation and infrastructure clients
  • Build operational and financial models that clients actually use — not shelf-ware
  • Design and facilitate workshops with senior stakeholder groups, including C-suite and government representatives
  • Structure complex problems, synthesize large datasets, and communicate findings clearly in writing and in person
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships and ensure delivery quality across your workstreams
  • Contribute to M2P's methodological development and business development activities

The environment

M2P operates across analytics, business redesign, digitalization, and project management — with a deep specialization in aviation (airlines, airports, and aviation authorities) and a growing presence across infrastructure and government. Our project portfolio spans the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

Our team is small by design. Every hire matters. You will work directly alongside the firm's senior leadership and be given meaningful responsibility from the outset.

What we are looking for

  • 2–5 years of consulting or equivalent domain experience in aviation, infrastructure, or a related sector
  • Strong quantitative skills — comfortable building models in Excel, Python, or similar tools
  • Proven ability to structure problems, manage deliverables, and communicate with senior stakeholders
  • Client-facing experience with a track record of earning trust through competence and candour
  • Degree in engineering, economics, finance, or a related analytical discipline
  • Existing knowledge of aviation operations, economics, or technology is a significant advantage

What we offer

  • Competitive base salary and performance bonus
  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage
  • International project exposure from year one
  • Direct mentorship from the firm's founding partner
  • A clear path to Senior Consultant based on delivery, not tenure
  • Flexible work arrangements between office and client site

Our hiring process

  • Intro call — 30 minutes with a member of the team. We cover your background and whether there is a fit worth exploring.
  • Case exercise — a short written take-home based on a real consulting problem. We assess how you structure your thinking.
  • Partner interview — a deeper conversation with David Ploog. We work through the case exercise together and discuss your experience.
  • Offer — if there is a mutual fit, we move quickly. Full process typically completed in under three weeks from first contact.
