Analyst — Strategy & Operations

Los Angeles or New York  ·  Full-time  ·  0–2 years

About the role

M2P Consulting is looking for a high-caliber Analyst to join our US practice. This is an entry-level consulting role designed for exceptional graduates who want to do real work on complex problems — not spend two years building decks in a support function.

You will contribute directly to live client engagements from day one: building models, analyzing datasets, structuring findings, and supporting the delivery of analytics, business redesign, and project management work for aviation and infrastructure clients.

What you will do

  • Build financial and operational models in Excel and Python to support client analysis and decision-making
  • Research and synthesize information from industry data, client interviews, and primary sources
  • Support the design and delivery of client workshops, stakeholder interviews, and presentation materials
  • Contribute to the production of client deliverables — reports, slide decks, models, and data visualizations
  • Work directly alongside Consultants and Senior Consultants on active engagements
  • Take on increasing client-facing responsibilities as you develop your skills and confidence

The environment

As an Analyst at M2P, you will be in the room — not behind it. Our team is small enough that you will be contributing meaningfully within your first month. You will work on projects spanning airlines, airports, government bodies, and infrastructure operators across the US and internationally.

We invest in our analysts. Most move to Consultant level within 18–24 months. The path is based on what you deliver, not on how long you have been here.

What we are looking for

  • Recent graduate (0–2 years) with a degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, finance, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Strong Excel skills — comfortable building structured models from scratch
  • Analytical mindset — you enjoy working with numbers, finding patterns, and solving problems that don't have obvious answers
  • Clear written and verbal communication — your thinking should be as clear on paper as it is in conversation
  • Interest in aviation, infrastructure, or complex operational industries
  • Python, SQL, or data visualization skills are a bonus but not required

What we offer

  • Competitive graduate salary and performance bonus
  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Direct mentorship from senior consultants and the founding partner
  • International project exposure within your first year
  • Clear path to Consultant level, typically within 18–24 months

Our hiring process

  • Intro call — 30 minutes with a member of the team. We cover your background and whether there is a fit worth exploring.
  • Case exercise — a short written take-home based on a real consulting problem. We assess how you structure your thinking.
  • Partner interview — a deeper conversation with David Ploog. We work through the case exercise together and discuss your experience.
  • Offer — if there is a mutual fit, we move quickly. Full process typically completed in under three weeks from first contact.
