The challenge

A major US airport embarked on a multi-billion-dollar capital improvement program encompassing six major infrastructure projects: a satellite concourse, a new terminal facility, a consolidated police facility, a centralized badge office, an automated people mover, and a consolidated rental car facility. Each project introduced distinct technology requirements spanning access control, security screening, passenger processing, transportation systems, and operational IT.

The airport needed a unified technology strategy that would ensure interoperability across all six projects while aligning with existing legacy systems and future operational requirements. Without a coordinated approach, there was significant risk of duplicated procurement, incompatible systems, integration gaps at go-live, and long-term operational fragmentation.

M2P was engaged to design the overall technology landscape, establish a capital program PMO for technology delivery, manage vendor coordination across multiple system integrators, and lead the integration testing and go-live strategy for each project as it came online.

Led the cutover strategy, functional testing, and integration testing for each project, coordinating across multiple vendors and stakeholders to deliver successful go-lives.
